Sierra Chart Connection Guide

STEP 1. Platform Subscription Information 

Sierra Chart provides OneUp Trader users with a free 30-day trial.

STEP 2 - Complete Rithmic's Market Data Agreements

Please start with Step 2 before contacting Support. Your SierraChart connection will not work until you sign the CME agreements via R-Trader Pro.

You must first download Rithmic R|Trader Pro in conjunction with any other platform you may use.

  • Use the following link to download and install R|Trader Pro Software: R|Trader Pro
  • Once installed, a new window will come up, enter your OneUp Trader account username and password in the appropriate fields
  • "Username" (USER ID - found in your welcome email)
  • "Password" (found in your welcome email)
  • “System” dropdown menu, select “Rithmic Paper Trading”
  • “Gateway” dropdown menu, If you are in the USA, then select CHICAGO AREA, if you are in Europe, then select EUROPE or FRANKFURT, and if you are in Asia, you will want to select TOKYO or SINGAPORE
  • When you connect, you have 2 CME GROUP Documents that you need to agree to.
  • Document 1: Click "I Agree" in the first one
  • Document 2: select either “Non-Professional” or “Professional” and then "Submit". Please note if you are a professional, OneUp Trader will have to invoice the exchange fee difference monthly to your card on file for the evaluation($405 for all four exchanges). If you are a professional user and are netted with the exchange, please let us know so we can kindly pass that on to our ISV.
  • Non-Professional - All regular market data included in your evaluation
  • Professional- CME-$105, CBOT-$105, NYMEX-$105, COMEX-$105

Important Note: If your username/password doesn’t work, try to COPY and PASTE it directly from your welcome email. Make sure you do not capture any spaces as it's case-sensitive.

STEP 3. Launch Sierra Chart platform

You need to be running Version 2280 or higher. This is an important step.

  • Launch Sierra Chart and Select Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings on the menu bar.

  • In the Main Settings, click on the Current Selected Service (List) box at the top of the window. Select the Rithmic Direct - DTC [Trading] service name from the list.

  • Press OK to close the Data/Trade Service Settings window. This step is essential to retrieve the list of servers available from Rithmic. Wait for about five seconds.
  • Select Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings on the menu to reopen this window. The list of servers will now be available.

  • In the Service Settings >> Server list, you will need to select the server Rithmic Paper Trading-Chicago Area-Non-Aggregated
  • In the Service Setting >> Trading Username box, input your OneUp Trader Rithmic UserID. This is case-sensitive! Make certain you enter it exactly as provided in your welcome email. 
  • In the Service Setting >> Trading Password box, input your OneUp Trader Rithmic Password. This is case-sensitive! Make certain you enter it exactly as provided in your welcome email. 
  • In the Service Setting >> Market Data Username box, input your OneUp Trader Rithmic UserID. This is case-sensitive! Make certain you enter it exactly as provided in your welcome email. 
  • In the Service Setting >> Market Data Password box, input your OneUp Trader Rithmic Password. This is case-sensitive! Make certain you enter it exactly as provided in your welcome email. 
  • In the Service Setting >> Historical Data Username box,  input your OneUp Trader Rithmic UserID. This is case-sensitive! Make certain you enter it exactly as provided in your welcome email. 
  • In the Service Setting >> Historical Data Password box, input your OneUp Trader Rithmic Password. This is case-sensitive! Make certain you enter it exactly as provided in your welcome email. 
  • Press OK to close the Data/Trade Service Settings window.

STEP 5. Connect 

To connect to the data and trading servers, select File >> Connect to Data Feed on the menu bar.

Important Notes

  1. In order to see your trades reflect in your OUP Rithmic account, make sure to turn off Trade Simulation Mode under Trade on the File menu in Sierra Chart.

  1. To have R|Trader Pro opened at the same time as Sierra Chart, make sure you turn Market Data off in the second login screen in R|Trader Pro
